Carl Nappa

As a Producer, Engineer and Educator, Carl Nappa has a career that spans more than 25 years. He serves as a Governor for the Memphis Chapter of the Recording Academy (The Grammy Awards). Carl started his career in his hometown of Boston before moving to New York City to engineer at the Hit Factory Recording Studios.  While at the Hit Factory, Carl worked on 39 Gold, Platinum, Multi-Platinum records and two have gone on to be Diamond award-winning. Carl’s has worked on records as an Engineering, Mixer, or Producer totaling over 79 million sales in the US alone. A fateful meeting and collaboration with Artist Nelly, lead to a ten year working relationship as his personal engineer. That relationship later turned into an opportunity for Carl to create the curriculum and work as Executive Director of the sound engineering music school, Vatterott College ex’treme Institute in Saint Louis. Carl owns The Saint Louis Recording Club, a recording studio in his new hometown of St. Louis.  This year Carl is teaching at St. Louis’ Webster University as a Visiting Artist in the Audio Aesthetics Department in the School of Communication.
