Name: Lexie Antolik
School: Columbia High School
Talent: Dance
How long have you been performing and what inspired you to start?
I’ve been in dance since I was four years old. Watching older kids dance inspired me. I wanted to do what they did.
How are you preparing for finals? Are you doing anything differently from your usual practices?
I am stretching and working out every day. I am also working on the “character” of my piece.
What will performing on the Fox stage mean to you?
It means everything to me! It is an honor to perform on the same stage that so many legends have performed on.
Is there someone you look up to and draw influence form for your talent?
I look up to my teachers and fellow dancers. I learn so much from them. I also look up to so many from the equity casts over the years at The Muny. My favorite performers are Jay Armstrong Johnson and Sharrod Williams.
What has been the highlight of your performance career?
My two biggest highlights are performing in the (St. Louis Teen Talent Competition) Finals last year and performing in the Centennial Gala at The Muny.
What do you hope to learn from your experience?
Stage performance and working with with a camera crew. Being able to utilize such a big and grand stage as a solo act.
