Darlean Cowan King, native of the metropolitan area, has been in the entertainment business for more than 20 years.  A vocalist who’s performed with Unity Theatre Ensemble, The Legend Singers, The St. Louis Black Repertory Theatre, and has recorded back up and voice overs for 3 local gospel CD projects.  Her career in the business has led to many opportunities as a performer, performance coach, artist manager, event management, costume director and radio announcer within the St. Louis area. Darlean is also part of the leadership team for the Divine Arts & Worship Music Ministry at a local church.

Darlean finds much fulfillment as a volunteer with many non-profit organizations within this community.

Darlean has served in several leadership roles for the following non-profit organizations:  The Center for Hearing & Speech-Board of Directors; Mental Health America of Eastern Missouri-Board of Directors; The Links, Incorporated, Archway Chapter-Chairperson for the Services to Youth Committee; The Older Women’s League; Amanda Luckett Murphy Hopewell Center-President’s Council; Better Love Yourself, Incorporated, St. Louis Chapter Co-Chair; Gifted Productions-Board of Directors; The Legend Singers-Board of Directors; and The Mildred Thimes Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research & Awareness. This is Darlean’s 5th year volunteering with the Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation as a Judge for the Teen Talent Competition.

Happily married to husband, Richard, and together they have two adult children and two grand-children. Husband Richard L. King is the former Chief Executive Officer for The Annie Malone Children & Family Service Center.  They enjoy volunteering together, domestic and international traveling, cruising, dancing, live theatre, live concerts and being with family and friends.
