Lisa Campbell Albert
Originally from Belleville, IL, Lisa received her Bachelor of Music from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, IL and Master of Music from Webster University in St. Louis, MO. Presently, she serves on the faculty of Webster University Conservatory of Theatre Arts where she teaches song analysis and vocal coaching. Previously, she resided on faculty in both Performing Arts Dept and Music Dept at Washington University where she received the ArtSci Council Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching. Lisa served as Music Supervisor/Music Director at STAGES ST. LOUIS from 2008 – 2020 receiving both Kevin Kline Award for Outstanding Musical Direction (2011) and Broadway World STL Award for Outstanding Musical Direction for five consecutive years (2014 – 2018). Lisa is a teacher and coach to performers in St. Louis, NYC as well as nationally including Taylor Louderman (Mean Girls, Bring It On, Keenan) and Elizabeth Teeter (Beetlejuice). Coming in Fall 2022, Lisa is proud to announce her new book on song analysis, The Moment Before the Music Begins, co-written with Webster University Professor Emeritus Bill Lynch and published on Histria Books. Lisa continues to play music with her husband, Tim Albert, in the St. Louis based blues band Uncle Albert.
