Marc Gordon is Executive & Artistic Director and a founding member of the Chamber Music Society of St. Louis. Previous to his involvement with the CMSSL, Marc served as English Horn soloist and oboist with the St. Louis Symphony from 1972 – 2005. He performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in that position until 2008 and then with the San Diego Symphony in the same capacity for the 2008-2009 season. A native of Chicago, he was educated at the Chicago Musical College of Roosevelt University and the American Conservatory where he studied with Ray Still and Richard Kanter. Marc was a member of the Grant Park Symphony in Chicago and was appointed to the English Horn position with the Lyric Opera of Chicago. He has also performed with the Milwaukee Symphony. Marc continues to be an active chamber music performer and teacher.
