Name: Zoë Meier
School: Francis Howell North High School
Talent: Classical Vocal Performance
How long have you been performing and what inspired you to start?
I have been performing since I was eight years old. Performing runs in my blood, my mom was a professional dancer and after seeing my first live musical I wanted to perform too.
How are you preparing for finals? Are you doing anything differently from your usual practices?
I practice every day during my study hall. I am also thinking of the judges’ critiques as I practice, and making sure to fix everything I can.
What will performing on the Fox stage mean to you?
Its and amazing opportunity for connections. Also, especially after this last year performing in itself is a blessing. So thank you to the Fox for giving the finalists an opportunity to perform again.
Is there someone you look up to and draw influence form for your talent?
I look up to my mom. She has helped me my whole life with performing. She helps me with basically everything. We like to call her my “momager.” She is the person who has encouraged me and has the biggest impact on my life.
What has been the highlight of your performance career?
The highlight has probably been performing with Union Avenue Opera. It helped guide me to what I want to do with my life.
What do you hope to learn from your experience?
I’m really looking forward to learning the opinions of some of the judges who aren’t in the classical world.
